Total Trip Expense

This is an estimate based on the income and expenses entered. Monthly and annual ownership costs are not included unless entered or allocated as trip expenses.

Example: Calculate Profit for a Truck Trip

Freight Revenue = ₹40,000 · Loaded Distance = 700 KM · Empty Return = 100 KM · Mileage = 4 KM/L · Example diesel price = ₹95/L

  • Fuel Required: 800 ÷ 4 = 200 L
  • Fuel Cost: 200 × ₹95 = ₹19,000
  • Other expenses: Driver ₹2,500 + Toll ₹2,000 + Loading ₹500 + Unloading ₹500 + Maintenance ₹1,000 + Other ₹500 = ₹7,000
  • Total Expense: ₹19,000 + ₹7,000 = ₹26,000
  • Net Profit: ₹40,000 − ₹26,000 = ₹14,000
  • Profit Per KM: ₹14,000 ÷ 800 = ₹17.50/KM
  • Profit Margin: ₹14,000 ÷ ₹40,000 × 100 = 35%

What Affects Truck Trip Profit?

Freight income, loaded distance, empty return distance, truck mileage, diesel price, toll, driver bata or salary, loading/unloading, maintenance allocation and other trip expenses all affect the estimate.

Why Empty Return KM Reduces Truck Profit

An empty truck still consumes diesel and adds distance even though no freight revenue is earned for that portion of the trip. Use the Empty Return Impact result above to see the fuel-only estimate.
