How to Calculate Tyre Cost Per KM?

Use this tyre cost per KM calculator to estimate tyre investment, total tyre life, retread cost, and true tyre running cost for your truck.

Tyre Cost Formula

  • New Tyre Cost = Number of Tyres × Cost Per Tyre
  • Retread Investment = Number of Tyres × Retread Cost Per Tyre × Retread Cycles
  • Gross Investment = New Tyre Cost + Retread Cost + Fitting/Alignment/Balancing
  • Net Effective Cost = Gross Investment − Scrap Value
  • Total Life KM = New Tyre Life + (Retread Cycles × Retread Life)
  • Tyre Cost Per KM = Net Effective Cost / Total Life KM
  • Monthly Tyre Cost = Tyre Cost Per KM × Average Monthly KM

Worked Example

For 12 tyres at ₹24,000 each, fitting of ₹5,000, one retread at ₹3,500 per tyre and scrap value of ₹8,000: new tyre cost is ₹2,88,000; retread investment is ₹42,000; gross investment is ₹3,35,000; and net lifecycle cost is ₹3,27,000. With 80,000 KM new-tyre life plus 30,000 KM retread life, total life is 1,10,000 KM. Tyre cost is approximately ₹2.97/KM, ₹297.27 per 100 KM, and ₹23,781.82/month at 8,000 KM/month.
